The pumpkin was weighed at the Durham Fair last Wednesday and came in 40lbs heavier than the state's previous record-holder. But it still falls short of the world's largest, which tipped the scales last year at just over 1,800lbs. Chris Stevens, from New Richmond, Wisconsin, used seaweed, cow manure and fish emulsion to grow his gargantuan specimen.
